Don't suffer any longer.

Serious problems begin with symptoms like stress, low energy, depression, insomnia and pain. Acupuncture treatments help to restore your health and balance.

Many people find that an occasional acupuncture tune-up is the best medicine to feel "right" and insure continuing health.

By choosing acupuncture you can begin healing safely, drug-free, and pain free.

Although acupuncture is not a cure-all, it is very effective in treating several diseases and conditions. Acupuncture has also been successful in treating obesity and addictions to nicotine and other drugs. Acupuncture also can improve the functioning of the immune system (the body's defense system against diseases).

Acupuncture is an extensive system of medicine which has been used to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease for more than 2,000 years. Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization and the National Institute of Health as a recognized alternative or complement to western medicine to improve lives.

Acupuncture was originally introduced to the West as a form of anesthesia and pain control. But on closer examination, it has a much broader use in treating conditions such as high cholesterol, fatigue, obesity, diabetes, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Acupuncture is also a tool for general disease prevention and health promotion. Research has verified that acupuncture can strengthen the immune system by increasing T-cell counts, which increases your resistance to bacterial and viral infections. This may be why acupuncture works well on allergies and asthma. Acupuncture can dramatically increase overall vitality and energy by treats underlying causes, a deeper kind of healing. It affects profound changes in people's lives physically, and on an emotional level as well.

Consequently, the intent of your doctor is to encourage your body's innate healing response, rather than suppress symptoms or pathogens.

ARE THERE ANY "DO'S AND DONT'S" FOR ME ON THE DAY OF A TREATMENT?

Yes. To receive greatest benefit from your treatments, the following guidelines are important:

  • Do not eat a large meal immediately before or after your treatment.
  • Do not over-exercise, engage in sexual activity, or consume alcoholic beverages within 6 hours before or after the treatment.
  • Plan your activities so that after the treatment you can get some rest, or at least not have to be working at top performance. This is especially important for the first few visits.
  • Continue to take any prescription medicines as directed by your medical doctor. Substance abuse (drugs and alcohol) in the days prior to treatment will seriously interfere with the effectiveness of acupuncture treatments.
  • Remember to keep good mental or written notes of what your response is to the treatment. This is important for your doctor to know so that the follow-up treatments can be designed to best help you and your problem.
  • Be sure to wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes on the day of treatment. Make sure to eat something light an hour or two before treatment
  • Avoid caffeine a few hours before treatment
  • Drink plenty of water before and after the treatment
  • Be sure not to work out before treatment
  • Treatment can last up to an hour and half, so plan accordingly
  • If you are pregnant, be sure to obtain a letter from your medical doctor stating that you can participate in acupuncture.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE TREATMENTS?
  • Most people feel either energized or relaxed after a treatment.
  • Often people fall asleep during the treatment.
  • Although rate of response varies from person to person, most people find relief from their symptoms right away.
  • All conditions involving pain are effectively treated with acupuncture. It's a therapy to train the body to adjust itself. Just like physical therapy, radiation therapy, or chemical therapy; multiple treatments are needed for the body to heal itself.
  • We ask that you carefully monitor how long your relief lasts, so that we can better customize your treatments. In some cases, your symptoms may initially worsen before they get better. In such cases, the symptoms usually only worsen for a few hours before they get better. However, if your symptoms are worse for more than 24 hours, you should contact us.
  • The specific number of treatments depends on the nature and severity of your condition.
